Sorry for your situation and I appreciate your philosopical and good attitude. I know it is stressful. Not to pry, but why are you not able to get Unemployment Insurance again? I have knowledge about this from my job and wasn’t sure about the reason from what you mentioned? I know it isn’t much money but it can still be helpful. Best wishes.

Got it. However,UI is based on the state your employer is based out of,not the state you live or worked in. The question would be if your employer paid into the UI system, not where you worked or lived. You can always file to see if you are eligible and coverage can be claimed from other states if possible. Bottom line, you can always file to find out for sure. I’d be glad to talk to you more about it if you want.

I may take you up on that. My last day of work is March 6th and my place of employment was in DC, though it may have technically been Connecticut. They definitely paid into the UI system, I guess I just need to figure out where.

I worked remote/hybrid for a washington DC job with residents in Virginia. I am moving to Colorado. I have not paid taxes in Colorado, nor has my employer. Because unemployment insurance, as far as I know is based on the state you live in, I don’t think I qualify for it in Colorado once I move, as neither I or my employer were in the state when I was receiving paychecks.
